In brief

Firefox's AI can now fill forms and watch pages

Mozilla added two features to the Smart Window beta. It suggests form entries from tabs you pick and watches up to five pages per task. It is English-only in the U.S. and Canada.

Mozilla has added two features to Smart Window, the opt-in AI mode in Firefox. It can now suggest answers for web forms using tabs you pick, and it can watch pages for changes you describe. The source is Mozilla's own announcement of October 27, 2026, plus its roadmap post.

Form filling

Imagine you are applying for a job. The form asks for your work history, and your online portfolio is open in another tab. Smart Window can read that tab and suggest what to type.

The option appears when a form has at least four text fields it can help with. You choose the source tabs, review the suggestions and edit them. Smart Window does not submit the form for you.

Regular Firefox autofill still handles saved details such as your name and address. That data stays on your device and does not go through AI models.

Page watching

Type "/watch" in the Smart Window chat and describe what you want to catch, such as a sale or a new job listing. Add the pages and pick a daily or weekly check.

Each task can follow up to five pages, and you can have up to 15 active tasks. Matches show up under the Tasks button in the toolbar. Checks run only while the browser is open, so a closed laptop checks nothing. Independent coverage from Unite.ai says page monitoring uses Qwen.

Privacy and models

For form filling, the selected pages are sent to Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite, which finds the fields and pulls out the relevant details. Mozilla says your model choice for Smart Window chat does not change.

Where it works

Both features are in beta, in English, in the U.S. and Canada. Mozilla's roadmap post says the same. Other markets are promised later.

Where the sources disagree

Mozilla's announcement says four text fields. Unite.ai, citing a support page FAQ, reports five. The announcement also describes pausing tasks after 60 days of inactivity and stopping them after 90. Unite.ai says the support documentation has all tasks pausing 90 days after creation.

The feature handles text fields only. Mozilla says it is exploring dropdown menus and PDF forms, and it does not save generated form data. Mozilla's support page could not be read directly, so these details rest on the blog and on Unite.ai.
