In brief

Amazon's Bee wearable now shops for you

Bee Frontier costs $74.99 and is on sale now. An opt-in link to Amazon.com suggests products from your talk. It needs Bee Pro at $11.99 a month.

Amazon has launched two new Bee devices, and the shopping link is the part that matters most. If you switch it on, Bee can suggest products that come up in your conversations. We know this from Amazon's launch post and reports by CNBC, Engadget and GeekWire.

The shopping feature is opt-in. It connects Bee to Amazon.com, and it requires the Bee Pro subscription.

The two devices

Bee Frontier is a wearable. You wear it on your wrist or clip it to clothing. It is on sale now on Amazon.com for $74.99. It has IP67 water resistance, up to seven days of battery and two microphones.

Bee Eclipse is a credit-card-sized attachment that snaps onto the back of a phone. It is listed at $99.99 and marked coming soon. Amazon has not given a date. Amazon says its battery lasts more than 21 days.

What Bee Pro costs

Bee Pro is $11.99 a month. Unite.AI reports a $99.99 yearly option. New buyers get 30 days free.

Why it matters

Bee is always recording when it is on. CNBC notes this is unlike Echo speakers, which listen only after a wake word. Amazon says that is how Bee builds summaries and reminders from your day.

Imagine you mention needing a new phone case while chatting with a friend. With the shopping link on, Bee could suggest one. That is convenient, and it also means a shopping service sits close to your private talk.

Privacy and background

Amazon says audio is processed in real time and then deleted, and that no audio is stored. It says transcripts are encrypted with keys your device creates and controls, and are accessible only to you unless you share them. A single press turns the device on or off, and an LED shows when it is on. Amazon also says you can delete transcripts and summaries at any time.

Amazon bought the Bee startup in July 2025 for an undisclosed amount. Engadget calls the Frontier the replacement for the original Pioneer, which is no longer sold.

Where sources differ

CNBC puts the predecessor's price at $50, while GeekWire says $49.99. Eclipse colours also differ. Amazon, Quartz and Engadget list silver, midnight, honey and blush. Unite.AI lists yellow, black, silver and pink.

The limits: Amazon's privacy claims come from Amazon itself. The sources show no independent testing of them or of the noise filtering. Engadget says that needs in-depth testing and suggests waiting for full reviews. The Eclipse's release date is unknown.
