Google released a web-based experimental platform called Playground that enables users to design and share custom games without writing code. The system uses a conversational interface where players describe their ideas through text prompts to generate characters, environments, and game rules.

Imagine you ask the platform to build a game where a character avoids obstacles in a space station; the system handles the creation process based on your input. Users can also remix existing concepts or modify game physics and mechanics in real-time.

If you can think it, you can play it.

Once a game is finished, it can be kept private, shared with friends via a link, or published to the public gallery for the community to explore. Many games on the platform support multiplayer features and include leaderboards for competitive play.

Google plans to expand these capabilities by integrating Unity Spark in the near future. This upcoming update aims to provide professional-level 3D tools and mechanics for more complex projects while keeping the creation process accessible.

Are you ready to design your own digital playground?

This platform is currently available for users aged 18 and older in the U.S. at playground.google. Access is provided based on Google One membership tiers. The system does not yet support complex, high-fidelity professional game development without the upcoming Unity Spark integration, and it is currently limited to specific regions and age groups.
