Google combined five Search tools to help shoppers plan and assemble home furnishings
New visual tools let users generate furniture previews in room photos and receive spoken assistance during installation.

Google detailed five updates across its shopping and search features aimed at interior decorating, as searches for home decor inspiration rose 300 percent over the past month.
The system now lets shoppers upload a photo of an empty space into AI Mode and enter wall measurements. The search engine creates visual mockups of specific furniture pieces directly inside the uploaded room picture, allowing buyers to check proportions and colors before ordering.
For real-world sourcing, Google Lens identifies physical vintage items photographed in stores, while Circle to Search finds matching decor seen on phone screens on Pixel and Samsung Galaxy S26 hardware. A new tool called Search Live accepts real-time camera feeds and spoken questions to help users assemble shelves or complete installation tasks step by step.
The company did not state how accurately the visual mockups scale items relative to actual physical rooms, and live video assistance requires specific mobile apps and compatible hardware rather than working universally on standard desktop browsers.
