Text2Dashboard automates the creation of enterprise data reports by letting users type requests in plain language. Instead of manual building, the system uses a specialized agent architecture to handle the entire lifecycle of a dashboard.

The setup functions as a plugin for the DataBrain platform. It works by interpreting a user's goal, finding the right metadata, and writing read-only SQL queries to extract information. It then compiles these into visual layouts.

The model proposes actions while deterministic software controls execution and records state transitions.

Safety is built into the core logic through deterministic hooks. These act like a checklist, handling approvals and auditing every step the AI takes before the dashboard goes live. If the system encounters a fault, it includes recovery mechanisms to keep the process stable.

During testing on specific data tasks, the agent proved capable of building functional panels and refining existing ones. It successfully navigated several simulated error scenarios without triggering unapproved actions or external side effects.

Imagine you ask for a monthly sales breakdown by region; the agent would translate that request, fetch the relevant database columns, and present the finished visualization for your review.

Why spend hours configuring widgets when an agent can assemble the layout for you? While the current version shows promise in controlled environments, it is not yet ready for broad production use. The developers note that it does not currently offer a speed advantage over manual construction.
